I am so honored to be nominated for my very first Liebster Award!
The gorgeous Ashley from Baseball Diamonds and Hairspray nominated me.

You should go stop by and tell her hello. I love her posts that recap her vintage, southern wedding this fall. Her andher hubs Coach looked like they just stepped right out of a magazine. I actually think my boyfriend has a secret man crush on her husband, but don't tell anyone I said that SHH! Ashley also doesn't know it yet, but she may be soon accepting the role as my new beautiful. Long story short. You will love her, and if not, you can go step on a Lego.

Alright, let's get this party started!
I am told step one is to list 11 facts about myself. Convenient! Seeing as I am a pro at making lists about myself!
11 Facts About Me
- My claim to fame is that I inspired a song that was #1 on the Billboard country charts. I was also in a music video for all of .5 seconds. Seriously, you could blink and miss me.
- I never ever had wisdom teeth. My dentist says I never will either. Which is really convenient seeing as I am thoroughly grossed out by teeth.
- Christmas is my LEAST favorite holiday. July 4th is, hands down, my favorite.
- If you let me pick where we eat, it will always be sushi.
- My bedside table is always stocked with food. I am the queen of midnight snacks.
- I am somewhat obsessive about keeping my car clean. I especially hate being able to see the dirt after the rain.
- My cowboy boots are my most prized item in my closet. I wear them practically everywhere.
- I enjoy couponing (even though I hardly ever do it anymore)
- I am addicted to technology. I can never seem to put it away.
- My dream car would be a red soft top Jeep wrangler.
- I have a girl crush on Julianne Hough
11 Questions from Mrs. Hopper
What is your favorite child hood memory?
My most fond memories from when I was a kid were the many days I spent at my grandparent's house. I spent every day after school there and every single summer exploring the woods, playing, helping in the fields, and just ultimately enjoying the innocence of childhood. I used to make forts in the woods and play house. Some of my forts are even still there!
Why did you start your blog?
I actually started blogging when I was in high school mostly as a way to journal. I would always get hand cramps, and I thought I was cool storing my thoughts in an online journal. I never really took it seriously until a few weeks ago. Now I am actually understanding the difference between blogging and journaling. Now it's more of a hobby than anything. It gives me something to do after work besides watching trash tv.
What is your nemesis?
I have a mouth that would make a sailor blush. It's totally unbecoming of me, and I know that. Sometimes I say stuff and it's so normal to me, that I don't realize I said something in front of someone I shouldn't had. It's a hard, hard habit to break. Then again quitting may almost be like Samson loosing his hair.
Do you have a special beauty regimen you swear by?
I don't really have a special regimen that I am not opposed to ever switching up.
Whenever I have severely chapped lips, I coat my lips straight Vaseline right before bed and I wake up and there are just as good as new. It's a great moisturizer! but I think everybody knows that..
What do you want to accomplish in 2013?
I hope to start establishing a pretty stiff little balance savings account. I know I have a few major milestones coming up in life, and I want to be able to get exactly what I want.
Who is your favorite singer/band?
Uh, hello?! What kind of question is this. How in the world do you expect me to answer this. I love so many!!
All time: Brantley (I find it weird for me to say that), Garth Brooks, Sister Hazel, or Edwin McCain
Right now: Florida-Georgia Line
What sport/extra curriculum activity did you do in HS?
I'm going to say this very quietly, because it's something that, even thought it was a huge part of my life, it's kind of embarassing.. ok get ready
I was in band
Okay, moving on...
Do you have a favorite childhood pet?
I got buddy when I was 11. I had been asking for my own dog for a long time and my parents finally gave in. I wasn't exactly the best owner to him, because after he grew up I rarely spent much time with him. He still loved me unconditionally. He would always get so happy when I was around and when I came home from college after I left. My mom told me after he died 2 years ago that she would judge my friends based on his reaction to them. He was always so loving to the ones that were "good people" and he always hated the ones that ended up being bad friends to me. He was the best listener, and one of my biggest fans. I miss that little nugget.
If you had a choice to move anywhere, where would it be?
Nashville, TN. has always had a tight grip on my heart. I know that's where I am supposed to be. I just need to jump off the cliff and pack my bags. There would be zero hesitation if I ever got offered a job in this incredible city.
What is the biggest thing on your bucket list?
Hands down, to see Garth Brooks in concert. I have always wanted to do this since I was a little girl.
What is the one thing (besides wallet, phone, etc) that you never leave the house without?
My camera, and even it it makes me sound like a total hick, my handgun.

Thanks for the nomination!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have to tell the story of the song you inspired...
I used to work with/for Brantley Gilbert and his crew for a few years while I was in college. This was way back when he really only played college bars in the south east. I was even (accidently) in his Kick it in the sticks video looking like a wet dog. Well, one summer he asked me to come over to help him run errands, clean up, and to get him ready for a big meeting. We spent the entire day and well into the wee hours of the morning driving all over the place running errands and then attempting to domesticate his house. He started talking about "the girl" telling me about her and asking my opinion.. He kept talking about how all of his friends wanted him to move on from her. We talked about this for hours while we finished up everything and even after we were done. I remember standing in his driveway at 3 or 4 in the morning when he walked me to my car (This is after a 30 minute ordeal of him asking me to crash there, that he'd give me his bed for the night and he'd sleep on the couch, so I wouldn't have to drive the 45 mins back to my place that late at night by myself..) "I don't know her like you do, and I am sure she is everything that you say she is. I bet she's your better half, your best friend, and probably feels like family. I can't tell you to move on, I can't tell your not good enough for her, because I don't know her, but I can't make you feel better, and I can't understand, but I can listen to you and I can be here" ..more or less. A few months later, I had my socks knocked off when I heard him play this song for the first time. I couldn't believe my ears that I was having a form of dejavu. and then last summer it was listed as a #1 song.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nom!! I'll be answering the questions tomorrow hopefully! Sorry it took me FOREVER!
