30 Songs in 30 Days Challenge

Day 15 - A song that describes you

"She Aint Right" - Lee Brice

This is me to a T--Every line and every word, exactly.

She got her daddy's tongue and temper
Sometimes her mouth could use a filter
God shook his head the day he built her
Oh, but I bet he smiled.
She loves and lives her life unruly
Tears up that dirt road up in a dualy
Dangerous, absolutely.
And in a little while...
She'll be roundin' that corner on three wheels
Ain't slowin down, yellin "Come on, jump in"
Always up to somethin, crazy got nothin' on her..

30 Songs in 30 Days Challenge

Sorry, I've gotten a day or two behind. I've just been completely swamped with homework and a lack of sleep. Do forgive me.. but our challenge continues

Day 6 - A song that reminds you of somewhere

"Home" - Daughtry

No, it doesn't remind me of home. It reminds me of Barnesville. A few times in a row this song came on my iPod on my trips down there.. it finally stuck as a theme song. The particular line that stands out to me is "The miles are getting longer the closer I get to you." It's a true statement about the drive down. The closer you get to that rinky dink town, the longer the drive seemed to get. The first 2 hours seemed to fly. The last 30 mins, though, sometimes felt like a lifetime.

Day 7 - A Song that Reminds you of a Certain Event

"I'm not gonna cry" - Corey Smith

Day 4 - A Song that makes you sad

"How far is Heaven" - Kitty Wells

Okay, so let me be start by addressing, this isn't a song on regular iPod rotation. My mom used to sing this to me when I was little when we were waiting for my dad to come home when he was working late. When my dad is in the hospital, for some reason I hum this song while I walk down the halls to his ICU unit or when I leave and come back home.. So you can see, not only from the lyrics, but from the story that I share with the song why it can easily tear me up on even the happiest of days

30 songs in 30 days Challenge -- plus another story

So yesterday I had a test in Networking. After the test, we reviewed the answers as a class to kind of give us an idea of how each of us did. I missed this one particular question, and kicked myself in the butt about it--it was a "duh" moment. Later that night at trivia, I got a chance to redeem myself. The question topic was Computers. My first initial thought was, the only answer to this I could give you was If they asked who was one of the original creators of Compaq computers--One of them is Billy's neighbors in the mountains.. otherwise we were screwed-even though I am an MIS major.. LOW AND BEHOLD the question was "What is Modem short for?" which was the exact same question I missed earlier that day on the test.
I was the only person in the entire restaurant that got it correct, might I add. I guess I got a chance to redeem myself.. and at least I got it right when it mattered, at trivia :)

Okay. Back to the challenge!

Day 3 - A song that makes you happy

"Mandolin Moon" - Sister Hazel

This song always seems to put me in the best mood possible. It's my alarm tone every morning in hopes that it starts everyday off on the right side of the bed. If you could see me right now, I'm smiling just listening to it. I'll leave it for you to enjoy as well!
